Lorcan Hynes is an award-winning filmmaker from the west of Ireland and one of the country's most in-demand commercial directors. Over the past decade, he has built a reputation for strong narrative craft, visual style, and emotionally grounded work.

He has directed campaigns for international brands and agencies. Irish highlights include the GAA’s We All Belong, TG4’s 25th anniversary film Eyes Wide.

Alongside commercial work, Lorcan has directed short-form documentary pieces including The Row, following endurance athlete Damian Browne’s solo row from New York to Galway, and Oceans Apart, a short film for Mayo.ie made during the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also directed work for Connacht Rugby for over ten years, featured in the book Front Up, Rise Up.

He has directed spots for clients including Just Eat, Sky, Ford, Volkswagen, Bank of Ireland, TG4, SSE Airtricity, EirGrid, Horse Racing Ireland, Boots, An Post, and Tourism Ireland.

Lorcan has won multiple ICAD awards and five Kinsale Sharks, including Gold in 2024 for the nine-minute Just Eat x Champions League film The Nutmeg. He was shortlisted for Best Young Irish Director at the YDA in 2018 and 2019 and won the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award in 2020. His work has been featured in Shots, Little Black Book, Best Ads on TV, The Irish Times, RTÉ, and Newstalk.
